This 90-minute presentation will introduce a variety of advanced Photoshop techniques and conceptual strategies that add significant depth and dimensionality to your images. The presentation will cover:

Blending Mode Corrective Editing 
• Colour, Hue, Saturation, Luminosity modes: Editing tone and colour
• Lighten, Darken, Screen, Multiply modes: Intensification and reduction
• Softlight and Overlay modes: Variable contrast colour editing

Creative Compositing with Masks 
• Luminosity masking 
• Layer styles masking 
• Blending mode masking

Refining a Digital Print 
• Creative sharpening vs. output sharpening 
• Editing the drawing, tonal, colour, and spatial compositions
• Defining and refining print luminosity 


Les Walkling is an artist and educator.  His art works are represented in many public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and The National Gallery of Victoria.  Les is the Postgraduate Research Fellow in the RMIT School of Art. He conducts regular digital imaging and has contributed to journals such as Artlink, Photofile, and Better Photoshop Techniques. He currently works as a digital imaging and colour management consultant.
