Boeing Applied Imaging
DSTO, Australian Defence Force

The Applied Imaging cell of Boeing's DSTO Operations can trace its origins to 1929 when it first began operations for the Australian Government. Boeing Applied Imaging is now operating in newly renovated premises co-located with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation at Fishermens Bend.

These facilities, without "wet" darkrooms, represent the newest scientific imaging operation in Melbourne and probably the first to embrace the new digital imaging paradyne. For the first time in many years Boeing and DSTO are making this facility available for a visit from the IPT.

Boeing Staff will discuss their activities including high speed video, image analysis, digital video production, digital imaging, web based image resource management, colour management, large format ink-jet printing, imaging applications for intranet communications, close range photogrammetry, visualisation, Time-lapse imaging as well as a tour of their facility.

As the location is at a Defence Research Laboratory (Platforms Sciences Laboratory) Members and Guests are required to telephone 96267886 to confirm their attendance before the meeting. Numbers are limited so please phone early. The meeting will commence earlier than normal at 4.45PM and finish at 7.00PM to meet security requirements. Visitors will meet at the Guardhouse at 506 Lorimer St Fishermens Bend at 4.40PM and will be escorted on base for the duration of the meeting.
